For this project we took out some interior walls to open up the house dramatically and expand the kitchen space. The old back wall of the house was removed, to allow the natural light to flow in from the solarium space. The homeowner is a plant lover and wanted the extra light for her plant collection to thrive in. Removing the back wall of the house also provided a view to the man-made lake out back while standing at the kitchen sink.
The hardwood floors were refinished rather than replaced. The finisher painstakingly patched the wood floors so that the demolition would be invisible.
The customer fell in love with the black stainless finish for their appliances, so the mandate was to lighten, brighten and modernize and incorporate pops of black to tie them in.
We also incorporated a coffee bar/ drink bar / wall oven area that is slightly removed from the Kitchen, to eliminate the traffic to these busy areas from the flow in the work triangle between the fridge, sink and stove.
