Nicolino's has been a hub of Winnipeg for over 30 years, but worn finishes that didn't reflect the owners’ attention to detail, a reception area that confused guests upon entry, and the fact that it was loud during busy evenings signalled the need for a refresh.
To improve the ambiance we introduced a low wooden ceiling element in the lounge space, and added warm finishes throughout, to create flow and a cozier atmosphere. We relocated their large feature mirror, replacing it with three backlit arched mirrors, enhanced the greeting station with a stunning chandelier to create a focal point making it easier for guests to self orient themselves.
We introduced softer and dimmable lighting throughout the establishment, paired with slatted acoustic panels on the walls and ceiling, making the place more welcoming. Another addition was installing wine bunks that extend to the ceiling, in the bar and servery, to dramatically improve the function of the space and relate back to the Italian roots of the restaurant.
